Scholarships

Invest in yourself – Start applying for scholarships today!

Receiving scholarship funding is one way to pay your Student Accounts bill while you attend college. Applying for scholarships pays off in more than one way. Not only will you be able to pay your bill at the college, but when you receive additional funding after your bill is paid you can create a savings account with that money. That means you can graduate from UTTC with no loans, no bill, and a savings account to rely on while you look for the perfect job. 

We encourage you to explore all of the scholarship options available to you — you’ve earned it!

AICF Full Circle and TCU

Full Circle due May 31. TCU due October.

American Indian Services

Academic year applications due June 1. Spring only due October 1. Summer due February 1.

Native Forward Scholarship Fund

Applications open January 1 and are due June 1 each year.

American Indian Education Fund

Application opens January and is due April 4.

WIOA Scholarship

Application deadline due before the beginning of each semester.

Cobell Scholarship

Applications open December 15 and close March 31.

Catching the Dream

Academic year applications due April 30. Spring only due September 15. Summer only due March 15.

D. A. R. Scholarships

Due January 1 for the upcoming academic year.

Native Vision Scholarship

Application due May 20.

Additional Scholarships for 2026-2027

  • TC Energy Scholarship – These applications open in January and are available to those who will be enrolled fulltime for the 2026/27 school year. There are scholarships specifically for STEM and Trades and then one open to all.
  • Rankin Scholar Grant – The Rankin Foundation offers three unrestricted non-tuition grants for nontraditional students. $2,000 to $2,500 per year of direct funding with renewable support up to five years.
  • Massachusetts Indian Association: Emergency Scholarship – This scholarship opportunity is designed to help students with demonstrable financial need so they can achieve their academic goals. All awarded funds will be deposited directly into your Student Account and later refunded to you under the normal Student Account refund process. Email completed applications to hwaters@uttc.edu
  • Native Scholarship Program – To apply to the Scholarship Program, please click this link to download the application form and criteria below. The deadline for this scholarship is May 4, 2026.

Additional Scholarships for 2025-2026

April Deadlines

  • EducateND Scholarship – Must be a graduate from a North Dakota high school or received home education in North Dakota, Pursuing a degree in education, Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75, Will be a junior, senior, or graduate student during the 2025-26 academic year. This scholarship offers $2,000 in financial support. Deadline is April 1, 2025
  • Voyager Scholarship | The Obama Foundation – Opportunity from the Obama Foundation for current college Sophomores. April 1, 2025 deadline
  • American Indian Education Fund – Native American, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian (student or one parent must be enrolled and have documentation). Attending an accredited 2 or 4-year college/university within the United States. Undergraduates must be enrolled as a full-time student. Graduate students must be enrolled 6-18 credit hours – Deadline April 4, 2025

August Deadlines

  • North Dakota Addiction Counseling Scholarship provides up to $10,000 in financial aid for students entering their junior or senior year of college, or those who have completed a Masters in Addiction Studies. This scholarship is available for those that intend to serve rural, underserved, and tribal communities in North Dakota. Deadline is August 1, 2025

November Deadlines

  • The Massachusetts Indian Association Emergency Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to Native American students facing unexpected hardships. Eligible emergencies include tuition, school fees, books, medical costs, childcare, internet access, auto repairs, and past-due rent. Priority is given to applicants who submit documentation or bills supporting their need. Deadline is November 6, 2025
  • The Panda Cares First-Year Scholars Program is a one-time postsecondary scholarship and college success program for students in their first year of college. Deadline is November 7, 2025.

Additional Scholarships for 2023-2024

  • Dakota Indian Foundation SPRING 24 SCHOLARSHIP must be enrolled in an SD tribe – 01/15/2024
  • Tribal Workers Charitable Foundation member of: Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, Lower Brule Sioux Tribe, Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, or Standing Rock Sioux Tribe – no deadline but there are a limited number of scholarships available (apply soon!)
  • Truman D. Picard Scholarship degree or area of study involves management of Forest Resources – 03/10/2023
  • Kim and Harold Louie Foundation students who are in the military or have parents who served (3.7 GPA or greater) – 03/15/2023
  • P Fund Foundation LGBTQ+ students from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, or South Dakota – 03/17/2023
  • The Voyager Scholarship students who will be in their junior or senior year of college in Fall 2023 with a 3.0 GPA or better – 03/22/2023

April Deadlines

  • NIH Scholarship biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research (3.3 GPA or greater) – 04/03/2023
  • DSG Education Connection trade industry scholarship – 04/05/2023
  • USDA 1994 Tribal Scholars Program Native students studying agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, and related fields – 04/09/2023
  • AIANTA Tourism & Hospitality Scholarship Native students with 2.5 GPA – 04/28/2023
  • Ford Fund STEM scholarship flyer Students of color enrolled in STEM-related degree programs – 04-01-2024

May Deadlines

  • NDACo child or grandchild of ND county employee or county official – 05/26/2023
  • AISES Scholarships (various) STEM degree – 05/31/2023

June Deadlines

  • AITP Scholarship students pursuing a degree in CIT or related – 06/01/2023
  • Native Forward Scholarship for Service available for various degrees, must agree to payback service – 06/01/2023
  • Native Forward Land Conservation and Indigenous Languages Scholarship $10,000 per year for 3.0 GPA students in natural resources or land management
  • Horatio Alger Technical Scholarship for students under 35 with financial need in a technical degree, scholarships are up to $2,500 – 06/15/2023

July Deadlines

  • Native American Scholarship ND residents enrolled in a federally recognized tribe with a 2.0 GPA – priority 07/15/2023

August Deadlines

  • Dakota Indian Foundation must be enrolled in a SD tribe – 08/01/2023
  • Elmer Rapp Native American Scholarship must be a member of the Hidatsa, Arikara, or Mandan tribe – 08/15/2023

September Deadlines

  • Sanford Health Military and Veteran Scholarship – 09/30/2023

December Deadlines

  • ITC Natural Resource Research Scholarship for Native American students who are planning or currently conducting tribally relevant research in a natural resource issue – 12/01/2023
